So It’s Come to This…A Giveaway

I recently told Ken that I wanted to do another de-lurking post.  It’s been several years now since I have asked everyone who reads to come forth and admit it, and I was curious to find out if any newbies were reading. Plus, I love your comments.  Really I do.  Even though I only get about one comment a week, it totally makes my day when it happens.

I just like knowing whose read and their thoughts on the matter.  After all, I’m like most women.  I need constant reassurance to keep me going.  And every once in awhile if you tell me that I’m pretty or you think my kids are well-behaved, I will love you until the end of time.

So back to my conversation with Ken.  ” You know what you need to do?  You should do a giveaway,” he said.

But giveaways are sponsored by other people and then donated to someone’s blog. Who’s going to donate to my blog?

“MediaMerge.” Ok, maybe Ken didn’t say exactly that, but that was kind of the gist.  About a year ago our company ordered about 50 blue-ray players from Best Buy for a install we were doing in Texas.  We didn’t know it at the time, but they were doing a promotional giveaway with each blue-ray player.  In short, fifty blue-ray players meant fifty blue-ray/3D copies of Despicable Me.

We’ve given away a lot of them.  Passed them out among our employees.  I even used some last year at Christmas for Dirty Santa gifts, but we still have a good bit left.  So that’s my offer.  De-lurk with a simple comment, and I’ll put your name in the running for a brand-new blue-ray disc of Despicable Me.  Still shrink-wrapped.   It can be played in 3-D as well, but works on any blue-ray player just fine too.  You’ve got a week to comment, and then I’ll chose a winner next weekend by letting the kids draw a name out of a hat.

If this goes well, I’ll consider doing more giveaways.  I might not have my own Etsy store, but I do have an embroidery machine and I know how to use it.

  1. Love you guys and love checking in on your blog.

    • Thanks Missy! At the moment, your chances of winning the blue-ray are looking pretty good!

And thank you Annie for the kind words. I feel honored that you would want to read about our family. I’ve enjoyed your comments and I’m glad you outed yourself when you did. :)

  2. I guess I ‘outed ‘ myself earlier, but I want to say that it is a privilege to be allowed to read about your beautiful family and your wonderful parenting ideas and endeavors. It is a really well written and interesting blog . ( And you don’t have to enroll me in the Give-away!)

  5. I love reading about all that your family is up to. You have some really great ideas and you are a wonderful writer. Your kids are precious and you are pretty (always have been)!!!

    • Wow! Thanks Mrs. McCarthy! Now as promised, I will love you until the end of time. :) Seriously, I really appreciate the kind words. I had no idea you were a reader. Thank you for commenting. And congratulations on your newest grandson. He is beautiful!

  6. Leigh,

Please don’t block me! I love “keeping up” through your blog. You are a masterful writer and seem to be very skilled as whatever you undertake.
I was glad to see you @ Sarah’s wedding!

    • No way I would block you, Mrs. White! Thanks for commenting! The things you learn when you ask people to “de-lurk”. I had no idea you were a reader. I’m not sure that I really am skilled at everything I undertake though. I have a pool full of dead tadpoles that probably wouldn’t agree with that statement! I’m noticing a running theme with the comments. It’s all the youth group moms from McElwain! I love it!

  7. I don’t only comment for a shot at a Blu-ray we’ve never seen, but it definitely motivates me. :) Plus, I always wanted to be a youth group mom from McElwain.

  8. Lee, you’re so funny! I think you’d make a great youth group mom! :)
